Richmond has something for everyone and we recommend you take the time to explore the city while visiting campus. The Beginner’s Guide to Richmond [PDF] describes the city’s unique neighborhoods, activities, local entertainment and dining options. The VCU website also lists events and nearby destinations both on campus and throughout Richmond.
During the week, visitors to the VCU Monroe Park Campus are invited to park in the West Broad Street Parking Deck and validation is available for those who schedule an appointment in advance.
Directions to the West Broad Street Parking Deck
Arriving from the east by Interstate 64W:
Take Exit 190 for Fifth Street and Downtown/Coliseum • Turn right at the eighth traffic light onto Main Street • Follow Main Street for 11 blocks and turn right onto Belvidere Street • Follow Belvidere Street for three blocks and turn left onto Broad Street • Remain on Broad Street for four blocks and turn left onto Harrison Street • The entrance to the VCU West Broad Street Parking Deck is on the left.
Arriving from the north by Interstate 95S:
Take Exit 79 for Powhite Parkway (Route I-195) • Bear left off the ramp onto I-195 • Take the exit for Hamilton and Broad streets and turn right • Follow Hamilton Street to Monument Avenue (second left) and turn left • Follow Monument Avenue east; its name will change to Franklin Street • Follow Franklin Street and turn left onto Harrison Street • Drive one and one-half blocks on Harrison Street • The VCU West Broad Street Parking Deck is on the right.
Arriving from the west by Interstate 64E:
Take Exit 186 for Powhite Parkway • Take the exit for Hamilton and Broad streets and turn right • Follow Hamilton Street to Monument Avenue (second left) and turn left • Follow Monument Avenue east; its name will change to Franklin Street • Follow Franklin Street and turn left onto Harrison Street • Drive one and one-half blocks on Harrison Street • The VCU West Broad Street Parking Deck is on the right.
Arriving from the south by Interstate 95N:
Take Exit 74A for Downtown Expressway (I-195) – the exit ramp is on the James River Bridge • Drive one mile and take the Belvidere Street exit (there is a 25-cent toll at the Belvidere Street exit) • Drive two blocks along Canal Street to Belvidere Street • Turn right onto Belvidere Street • Follow Belvidere Street for four blocks and turn left onto Broad Street • Remain on Broad Street for four blocks and turn left onto Harrison Street • The entrance to the VCU West Broad Street Parking Deck is on the left.
From the parking deck:
Exit the deck on the Harrison Street side • Turn left and walk to the third stoplight (Park Avenue) • Turn left and walk to the other end of the block • The Graduate School is across the street on the corner at 1001 Grove Ave., Moseley House, room 103.
